Biography in danish

Pernille Petersen (f. 1983) havde sin anmelderroste debutkoncert fra solistklassen på Det Fynske Musikkonservatorium i september 2010. Koncerten markerede afslutningen på omfattende studier i Danmark og Sverige hos Nikolaj Ronimus og Dan Laurin.

Siden da har hun gjort sig bemærket som prisvinder og en udforskende musiker, blandt andet som solist ved en lang række koncerter med Concerto Copenhagen med koncerter af Bach, Telemann og Vivaldi. Repertoiret har base i den tidlige musik og den nye kompositionsmusik, altid med et unikt tvist af international eller historisk bevidsthed. Blandt de mange projekter hun har kastet sig ud i kan nævnes Izar Melting Pot Ensemble; et møde mellem arabisk og vestlig middelalder, KOTTOS; progressiv folk og ny musik, samt sceniske børneforestillinger og ny musik med Woodpeckers Recorder Quartet. Hun medvirker desuden i Lady Baroque, Trio Nordic Block og In Consort.

Pernille Petersen udgav i november 2010 sin første solo plade “Sonatas by Mr. Castrucci & Mr. Geminiani” med Gunnhild Tønder, cembalo og Tom Pitt, cello på ClassicO. En plade der fik stor international opmærksomhed som første udgivelse af en unik samling engelske baroksonater. I november 2014 udkom “Busy Bees and Birds” med ny musik af Mogens Christensen på DaCapo Records. Og i juni 2015 udgave Izar Melting Pot Ensemble deres plade “The Melting Pot” der blandt andet blev ugens album på P2. I sommeren 2016 udgave KOTTOS sit debut album, der hædredes med P2 Lytterprisen 2017.

Pernille Petersen udmærkede sig tidligt og vandt i 2000 guldmedalje ved Berlingske Tidenes Klassiske Musikkonkurrence. I november 2009 vandt hun som den første dansker nogensinde den prestigefyldte Moeck/SRP Solo Recorder Competition i London. I maj 2010 vandt hun Prijs Mieke Van Weddingen i Mechelen, Belgien og blev også tildelt publikumsprisen ved samme lejlighed. Sammen med barokkollektivet Bastard Barock vandt hun i juni 2014 “Ear-ly” en konkurrence for unge tidlig musik ensembler – en konkurrence hun allerede i 2010, sammen med Woodpeckers Recorder Quartet, havde taget publikumsprisen i.

Pernille Petersen har blandt andet modtaget Odd Fellow Logerne i Odenses Rejselegat, Børge Schrøder og hustru Herta Finnerups Musiklegat og Léonie Sonnings Musikfonds stipendiat.

Danish recorder player Pernille Petersen (b. 1983) known as winner of Moeck/SRP Solo Recorder Competition in 2009, had her debut from the Carl Nielsen Academy of Music in Denmark in 2010 after studies in Denmark and Sweden with Nikolaj Ronimus and Dan Laurin.

Since then she has been working and exploring the fields of early and contemporary Music. As a soloist with renowned Concerto Copenhagen in concerts by Bach, Vivaldi and Telemann. As chamber musician in crossover constellations such as Izar Melting Pot Ensemble – a meeting between Arabic and western early music. In award winning ensemble KOTTOS, a progressive folk and contemporary music band. Playing scenic childrens productions and premiering new works for recorder quartet with Woodpeckers Recorder Quartet.

In 2010 Pernille Petersen released her first solo album “Sonatas by Mr. Castrucci & Mr. Geminiani” with Gunnhild Tønder, harpsichord and Tom Pitt, cello at ClassicO. The first recording of these unique English Sonatas. In November 2014 she released “Busy Bees and Birds” with premiering works of Danish Composer Mogens Christensen at DaCapo Records – a tour de force in modern recorder playing. In June 2015 Izar Melting Pot Ensemble released their record “The Melting Pot” and was album of the week at Danish Radio P2. In the Summer of 2016 KOTTOS released “KOTTOS” an album with own compositions of folk music from a country that doesn’t exist.

Pernille Petersen has been honored with a gold medal prize at Berlingske Tidendes Classical Music competition for young players. First prize winner at Moeck/SRP Solo Recorder Competition in 2009. First prize winner and audience award at Prijs Mieke Van Weddingen in 2010. With Bastard Baroque first prize winner in “Ear-ly” competition for young Early Music Ensembles in 2014. And with Woodpeckers Recorder Quartet; audience award at “Ear-ly” in 2010.
